This is a 20th century world, realistic RP dictating Europe. When more players join in, the world will expand with region to region. For example, when 10 players are active in Europe, the region Asia will open up alongside Europe. Players may create nations or expand their rule into Asia. With 20 players, Africa is next, then at 35, Indonesia and Australia will appear and so on. Think of this as a solid fog that encompasses the playing region, this fog cannot be penetrated nor seen, making it seem like the playing region is the only land mass there truly is. When a new region is unlocked, it's like a geographical revolution, similar to the discovery of the New World in real history.
Overview:
"Struggle in close quarters as a European nation and expand your reign to new lands."

For time referencing, one real life day is equal to seven days in the RP. So one RP year is 52 real life days long.
A player may enter this RP by either claiming an area on our land claims page, or can gain rule from a player giving them land. Each area will have a listed of resources and materials produced, these materials can be used to build certain buildings or units. All players begin with a population of 5 million persons, for equality reasons. All nation populations grow at the set rate of 1.02% annually in game, if not affected by war or any negative disaster, this rate can also increase with certain resources and buildings. Independent nations can be conquered and added to population, the rate will change. Independent nations are every nation that is not claimed by a player, these nations are represented historically. For example, the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire (along with others) are present but are also portrayed with a population of 5 million for equality reasons. The Ottoman Empire's land area will be redefined for what is deemed appropriate for this RP, along with any other large nation during this time period in history.
This RP is occurring in the early 1900s, leaving prime room for Technology research and the ability to go further in depth. Technology will also help aid in military and battle factors as well as building, advancement, and expansion of an empire. The time frame is also representative for the imperialism that occurred in real history. There is universal technology: a technology granted to all players when a certain time period is reached. A technology is deemed universal when 20 players research it. There are three Technology trees, the primary goal is to focus on one, and then advance into others. Technology can be traded or gifted (nothing to rapidly advance a nation, doing so is against the RP rules).
Any battle that occurs will be conducted by a battle director. A battle director is any designated player or a GM who is on at the time of battle, the battle director follows set directions provided in a separate thread. The main rules about military is the fact that soldiers cannot reach over 20% of your population (when being invaded) and that when fighting another nation, the owner of that nation must be on as well to fight back. If an independent nation is doing battle, that will be directed by the GM.
Economic Ratings: Every established state (empires ruled by a real player) is given a predetermined, random rating of a two or a three. This result is literally chosen by me flipping a coin at my desk. An Empire's Economic Rating ultimately affects its ability to send aid, it's strength internally and externally, its GDP, stronger government/business ventures, the ability for neighboring empire trade (not raw resources), its place in the event generator, and a variety of other realistic reasons. The Rating is on a scale of -3 to 7. 7 being the best, however, note that it is possible to be spending too much and then go into debt. 3 is average. The following below are ways the Economic Rating is affected and the current Ratings of Empires.
The resource, gold, grants +1
The resource, silver, grants +1
During war, +1 for a struggling economy, -1 for an economic powerhouse or positive economy
During war, -2 if being invaded; -1 if the Empire is being invaded and winning
Lose of the capital of an Empire, -3
This number can also be altered by the event generator.
Monetary Values: "What's that under my Avatar?" That sir is the monetary system. Due to your economic rating when starting out, money will be donated to your new Empire initially. Currency is mainly produced by posting, every post gives the poster 85 notes (or as some will call them, Euros). It is also true that you can give or pay money to other players, giving this RP a very realistic approach. Money can be donated and used in deals, it also has another purpose, money establishes the wealth of your Empire overall. True expenses such as a standing army tax (defense spending), payments for researching a technology (also know realistically as it is the cost to produce), foreign aid to another player, investing in the stock market, using the European Bank. At the bottom left-hand corner of your viewing device are 3-4 symbols: A Piggy Bank (the World Bank), a graph (the stock market, only open on desktops), donations to your nation, and occasionally a nice little present (money given to your nation). If a nation goes Bankrupt or needs funding, contact the administrator, Ceres, and negotiate the terms of the loan. His alternate profile, the Banking Empire, will then issue a loan. Loans must be paid back or the Bank will remove territory from your nation as reparations!
Note= Nations in war must pay 100 notes (every 5,000 soldiers) per day of war. Pay to the Banking Empire
Now, the following are all expenses that player must pay!
Standing Army Tax; cost= (WIP)- if you do not pay a standing army tax, you do not have an army, period! Send payments every RP year to the Banking Empire
Technology Tax; cost= (WIP)- When researching a technology, a nation must pay all its workers and the expenses to research it. This occurs exactly when a technology is finished in its research. In order to implement the technology, the tax must be paid. Think of it as the money that's needed to construct or enhance your country with the new technology. Send payments to the Banking Empire.
The rules are relatively simple, as if like any RP:
Do not try to make your nation overpowering.
Do not grant abundant amounts of resources or Technology to new players.
If a nation owns over 250% of their original land claim, a territory within this nation will be available for a new player to join in as a new land claim. This new player will then "separate" from the original owner and create their own nation. This is not allowed to be abused.
Battles are to be directed by a battle director only.
Do not try to speak for another player's nation or an independent nation.
Military personnel cannot exceed 20% of an empire's population.
