The British Empire has for some time now, been a reasonable, active, nation in this world. And yet, insolent barbarous tribes do offense to the reputation of our nation, navy, and foreign affairs. This, coupled with multiple failures to allow our Austria-Hungary-bound trade vessels to pass through their seemingly calm waters peaceably, constitutes an immediate British response. Insulting our grand empire is one thing, but for this undeveloped country to make its first cohesive action a direct attack on the trade vessels of The British Empire, is an outrage, and truly shows the failing virtues of these savage people. With this, Britain has declared War on Portugal and will be deploying troops in the morning, leaving the rest of tonight for some close reconnaissance of the region. With God as my witness, these ne'er-do-wells will see the end of their misguided ways, and perhaps, do some good instead of bad for the rest of Europe, whom could make better use of their valuable marble for building up this region, rather than tearing it down at its economic base.

(You're the best trading partner. It's like you're doing this for the good of the territory ) I support such a battle, resources are very valuable to us. We are punctual, and these no-destination shipments are straining our patience. Thank you, Gemini Bios.

We have finished our reconnaissance and, with the added support of our newly received airships, we are ready to take the land by storm, but given the beforehand aggression of the nation, I will be sending an ample force to deal with the matter. 100,000 troops have been deployed.

British troops have reached the Portuguese shores and even with the aid of our airships, have have put up some not so surprising resistance. Their numbers, however, are severely lacking and they should fall by tomorrow.

Due to a surprising amount of Spanish support for the Portuguese cause, we were unable to quell the Portuguese forces. Another 50,000 troops are being deployed to support the remaining 75,000. Enlistment of more of our navy may be necessary to maintain control in the country if this unrest doesn't settle soon. (thought it would be an interesting twist in light of the spanish auction and the unrest it may or may not inspire in the spanish people to see every spot around them suddenly poked at by a larger foreign power)

The British reinforcements have arrived and crushed the remaining Portuguese resistance in the region. Meanwhile, Portuguese sympathizers (Spanish) have been appeased by Britain's show of respect in leaving the Spanish territory alone, and their resistance groups have left the region as well. Britain will now assume complete control of the lands, ports, and resources of Portugal until such a time that a new leader can be found for the region and its inhabitants. New trade deals are available and current deals will be revised between Britain and its valuable partners. Britain would also like to offer its aid in the land reassignment to take place in Spain in the near future, given our established presence in the region. (The aid is just for RP purposes, Britain will basically be the riot police, and put forth economic aid, so basically, little to no chance of riots when the territories change hands and governments.)

The British Empire, due to the introduction of a capable leader, has relinquished its claims to Portugal and it's aid in the nearby Spanish territories, and looks forward to the great country it may now move forward to become, under its own flag and without foreign intrusion.
